The Institute was opened in October 2005. Initially it was named as the Institute of Tourism and Recreation, currently it is named as the Institute of International Relations. The Institute educates full-time and extra-mural students who obtain a Bachelor's degree after 6 semesters.
The graduates of the Insitute of International Relations have the humanistic knowledge which allows them to be acquainted with human needs and verify social phenomena and processes.
The acquired knowledge of nature makes it possible for the graduates to understand how the human - environment system functions and to understand the cause and effect. However, the acquired knowledge of economics and law allows the graduates to implement the system of evaluation and application of basic market mechanism in a planned and conscious way.
The graduates are prepared to work in tourist traffic services and recreation, hotels, guesthouses, recreation centres and in government and self-government administration as people responsible for tourism promotion and development, and cooperation within the scope of obtaining EU funds.
Cultural Heritage - the graduate of this speciality has broad knowledge of history of culture and art of Poland and the region which they can use to take actions aiming at showing tourists the monuments of Polish material culture.
Tourism and Hotel Management - the graduate of this speciality gains comprehensive knowledge and practical skills which enable them to work in tourism industry within the scope of tourist and hotel enterprise management.
Leisure time management - the graduate of this speciality gains humanistic knowledge of planning, organizing and promoting cultural-recreational forms of spending leisure time.
Agricultural tourism - the graduate of this speciality gains the knowledge of functioning of agri-tourism farms, the possibilities of using rural environment values in agricultural tourism and abilities to organize and manage agri-tourism farms.
European Administration - the graduate of this speciality acquires the knowledge of legal regulations of functioning of the European Union, possibilities of cooperation and obtaining funds particularly withing the programs of the European Union.
The graduates of Tourism and Recreation can continue their education to obtain a Master's degree at any university in Poland, for instance University of Physical Education in Krakow and Katowice, Pedagogical University in Krakow, the University of Rzeszów and Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin.
